With the trend of rapid suburbanization, the job-housing relation dramatically changes and the transportation mode also experiences unprecedented adjustment. To avoid potential environment and energy crisis due to car dependency similar in the U.S., it is important to integrate land use and transport in urban planning process. With research strength in high speed rail and urban trail transportation, Urban Planning and Design Institute of BJTU adapt a multidisciplinary perspective to explore the relation among rail transportation development and urban form, urban design, transportation hub and underground space redevelopment, and promote the planning practice in land use and transportation integration.
