Wei Heng is professor of University of Cincinnati School of engineering and applied science, director of traffic engineering and system research, and Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA) former chairman. On December 21, 2016, He visited our school, and entitled the land use planning, traffic demand and traffic management under the framework of environmental sustainability.
During the lecture, professor Wei built the models about traffic forecasting, urban planning and traffic emission ,basing on haze in Beijing. He combined land use, transportation and environmental quality models, and took an idea that it was important to combine the traffic and urban planning combining with the social and cultural background to predict traffic behavior under different circumstances. Evaluate the achievement of traffic performance, including accessibility, mobility, environmental protection and economic development. So building a bridge between traditional land use and transportation will play a vital role in policy makers.
After the lecture, Professor Wei visited the Beijing Jiaotong University - University of Cincinnati Future Cities Co-Laboratory.
